  • Bronchoscopy Laboratory
Pulmonary physicians often use a diagnostic test called bronchoscopy to assist with analyzing a patients lung disease. During this procedure, the doctor looks inside the lung by using a soft flexible tube called a fiberoptic bronchoscope. The fiberoptic bronchoscope transmits a continuous video picture of the inside of the airways and provides access to deep lung tissue. The Division directs a comprehensive bronchoscopy laboratory with advanced techniques including:

bronchoalveolar lavage
transbronchial biopsy
needle aspirates
laser therapy
stent placement
